"My first draft is DONE. Thank you, thank you Suzanne. I made my
personal deadline and I wouldn't have without your coaching and caring." Janet Rolfson |

![]() You have an innate ability to cut through the whirlwind in my mind (thank you for sharing with me that I am not alone in my vast imaginings - you know writers!), blowing out the rubbish, and saving the good work. You listen, therefore you hear; I feel I know you well enough now to say that I became your 'mission,' and you forged on with me until my storm subsided. Once again, I am at my favorite seat, pen in hand, story back on track. Suzanne, you were born to do this work. I am so happy and grateful I found you, having searched for a mentorship program like this for years. Because of you, I say with pride and self-confidence: 'I am a writer.'" Sharilyn Janet |

![]() While searching for a writing coach, Suzanne
was highly recommended by a fellow writer. From the beginning, she was engaging,
encouraging, and inspiring. She walked me through the process of writing my
first non-fiction book proposal from organizing my time to setting and reaching
my goals. I was well prepared for a writer’s conference and the pitch to a
publisher. The progress I made during my
time with Suzanne has propelled my writing career.

“Suzanne is friendly, enthusiastic, supportive, and
has a good ability to quickly and clearly identify the blocks a person is
experiencing, and provide the support to deal with those blocks. I found the discipline to work on a long and tedious editing project that had been hanging around for a long time, for which I was finding excuse after excuse to delay, and which was stopping me from progressing on a new project. I was able to finish my project, hence freeing me up to continue with the new one. It took about two months of daily hard grind, but I did it. It’s good to know that Suzanne is around if I need her in future (which I may).
I would recommend her to anyone who is having
difficulty making progress on a writing project, who is fainthearted about
their ability and needs some reassurance and support, who is blocked, or who is
finding it hard to carve out time for writing and organize their writing lives. Suzanne will make you believe in yourself, and feel
that you are a writer!” Christine Forth |

![]() Suzanne took me in her hand and guided me past my biggest foils: resistance, comparing myself, and my awful, judgmental inner critic, right back onto the path of enjoying putting words on the page. Thank you!" Margaret Nowaczyk, mother, physician, and writer |

Suzanne, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! It is amazing how much we have accomplished. I also thank the Canadian Authors Association for being creative enough to sponsor a “Coach in Residence” this year." Heather Anderson |

“I just wanted to share some news with you: Other Voices is going to publish my “Red Passion No. 9” short story in the Spring 2011 issue!!! I am so happy! Thanks for all your support with my writing. I am totally inspired now to write more.” Lynn Gale |

"I had no hesitations about working with Suzanne. She truly seemed
interested in listening to me and helping me determine and develop my writing
path. Because she took my writing career dreams seriously, it encouraged me to
as well. Since working with Suzanne I have published two short stories, three
articles and am currently working on two longer works. I feel like I have a plan now for my writing future. Suzanne, thanks for your ongoing support and encouragement!" Lynn Gale

![]() "I really appreciated your enthusiastic coaching and gentle butt-kicking
that was needed to keep me writing! Your insight about the writing
process and wisdom regarding writer's block helped a great deal. I've
made so much more progress than I ever thought possible, and in a much
shorter time, too! Thanks, Coach!" Sue Paulson |

"Every time we talk about the possibilities of writing I go away more
charged up, especially when I see what I've accomplished so far. Thanks

“Suzanne Harris is a gifted creative coach. She asks. She invites. She listens. Then she reflects back your ideas/dreams/projects/goals and helps you set them into a concrete document that will prove transformative. It makes things happen. It makes things real.

"I really wanted to write my next manuscript, I
really needed to write my next manuscript, so why wasn't I
writing my next manuscript? Suzanne helped me figure that out, and got me back on track. She has a deep knowledge of the writing process, from conception to revision to publication, and she genuinely wants writers to gain from that. Every writer deserves a coach in her corner!" "Writing is a vital part of my
work. I have been much more productive in writing since working with Suzanne. I
am motivated and inspired! Before, writing was a task that I wanted to avoid or
postpone. Now I consider writing an exciting and challenging activity. I
have been able to identify the time period where I can write effectively and
effortlessly. I am certain that the improvement in writing will ultimately
advance my career." Ked Thavorn |

"Thank you again! Just had to say that. Since our chat and your newsletter giving advice to: "let yourself write a crappy first draft" I have been so much more productive with my writing and working much more on my story than when I was trying to make everything perfect (or as perfect as we think it can be in our heads). My muse now visits more frequently and dances more freely! Thank you so much for being you in all that you do (and give)." Marg Mason |

![]() "Suzanne motivates me like no one else. She
makes things happen. Thanks to Suzanne's coaching, I actually started to
meet submission deadlines: I applied for a faculty grant to attend Writing With Style at the Banff
Centre to workshop a personal essay, received the grant and was
accepted into the program. I submitted poetry to several anthologies and
magazines and had poems
accepted for all of them. I pitched two manuscripts to
Athabasca University Press and subsequently submitted my haibun
collection. It was rejected, but I felt good about at least pulling it
together and getting it out. I also proposed an anthology of writing from the Women's Words
program and co-edited it in time for a June launch. Thanks to Suzanne I feel like a writer again." Shirley Serviss |

"For as long as I have known her, Suzanne
has been engaged in the process of writing. Her passion for writing
envelopes both the business and creative fronts. She’s served as
president and regional vice president of the Canadian Authors’ Association, and
continues to show an amazing dedication not only to her own writing, but
to furthering the craft of writing in those around her. She is an
amazing coach – Suzanne has that rare combination of 'perfectionist' and 'barely-contained-maverick.' A joy to work with." Thomas Trofimuk |
