Frequently Asked Questions and more
Lastly, if you want a really fresh, inspired start, one-on-one coaching is included in the writing retreat I host each September in Greece!
I am a published writer and public relations professional with a BA in English Literature and a diploma in Public Relations. I've worked over the years in communications with the government of Alberta, with the Edmonton Heritage Festival, the University of Alberta, and the Edmonton Arts Council. I have been freelance writing and editing since 1998.
I have been involved in the local and national writing communities for over 15 years.
I have been immersed in the writing community both as a participant and as a leader. I served two years as president of the Alberta Branch of the Canadian Authors Association, and five years as regional vice-president on the national board of the same association. I was part of the Canadian Authors Association’s first Strategic Planning Committee and served as the Chair of their Marketing and Communications Committee. I was also coordinator of CanWrite!, a national writers' conference held in Edmonton in 2008. All in all I worked with CanAuthors for over 10 years, coordinating programming and services to meet the needs of writers in all stages of their craft.
I consider myself fortunate to be a creative type with a business bent. Years of working inside deadlines and strategic planning, combined with my perfectionist tendencies, means I have planning, organizing and doing down to a fine art. These are the unique skills I bring to the writing process to make overwhelming creative projects manageable and achievable.
I have a true passion for words.
My first love is and always has been writing. I value the nuances and the textures of words, respect their power, and wonder at their magic. Best of all, I am more than happy to share this passion.
I have a history of working to contribute to an active community of writers.
Through my volunteer work with the Canadian Authors Association, I have spent a lot of time listening to writers at all stages of their careers and coordinating programming and services to meet their needs. I strive to live the Canadian Authors Association motto ‘Writers helping writers” and in 2008 was awarded the association’s Sangster Award for meritorious service.
I understand the writing world.
From poetry to prose, conception to publication, writing to marketing, I am familiar with the various aspects of the writing world. If I don’t already know, I probably know who to ask.

I can trace my entire writing career back to the literary encouragement I received in grade nine from my all-time favourite Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Joberg. (Great teachers are national treasures!)
One of my superpowers is orchestrating groups to get things done.
I have a degree in literature from the University of Alberta.
I earned my coaching chops with the granddaddy of creativity coaching, Dr. Eric Maisel.

My heart's home is in Greece.
I once had dinner with Prince Edward…sort of.
